Weekend Recap: The 3rd and 4th of July 2016

Warning: Super, duper picture heavy!

The holiday weekend was busy but so much fun!

Saturday was spent at a family cookout and Sunday started at one of Emma's friend's house for a birthday party/holiday party.  Can we talk about how she's suddenly a small teenager...

We had a blast but with my brother being home (which only happens like once a year now!), we jetted off to Plymouth to see him and the rest of my family.

Growing up on Whitehorse Beach, July 3rd is its own holiday. July 3rd is the night of bonfires and fireworks for us. While we've taken the past two years off with "the new baby" (oh my gosh, he's two now so I need to stop calling him the baby...) but we decided to try them out this year!

One of my friend's family owns a house directly on the water which makes it so much easier with the kids.  My mom lives about a half mile from the water and with a 5 year old, that bathroom is just too far away. Being at a house is just so much easier, plus her family is the sweetest! They always cook a ton of food and bring their kids so it's a big party, plus the water is literally steps away!

Fun fact: this was the 7th anniversary of our 1st date!

My brother with his gorgeous girlfriend!

And my friends... love them!

It was a late night but the next day we decided to check out the Fairhaven parade and watch the cannons get shot before David picked up some holiday overtime.

It was really cool to see the cannons actually be fired off!

With my brother being home, I packed up the kids and went to my grandmother's to see our family and celebrate the holiday with a cookout.

The dog claimed the pool!

My gorgeous cousin!
I can admit, we fell asleep as soon as we got home and completely missed all the fireworks but it was such an amazing weekend!

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend!
