The Busy Giffs: The Cape Codder Resort

The Cape Codder Resort

I'm going to say it, this summer has been hard.  With Coronavirus closing most things, and most plans going out the window, it's made summer a bit more boring than normal. It's crazy to think but my girl is now 9 which means, I'm already half way done with the summers we have together before she's an "adult" and off working etc. Honestly, that makes me so sad. I want every summer to be special. It's a big part of why I took a teaching job and left the restaurant industry; I wanted more time with my kids. Even though Coronavirus has changed our summer, I refused to let it end our good times.

I was especially excited when the Cape Codder Resort sent me an email offering a discount and highlighting the great socially distanced way they were opening back up: reduced capacity, extra cleaning, and takeaway orders from the hotel restaurant. I figured if I brought some disinfectant and sanitizer, we could stay safe, and even still distance, while having some fun.

Check in was a breeze, with no one else in the lobby, although there was spacing of 6 feet on the ground, as well as signage requiring masks and imploring people to make healthy decisions. The room was beautiful and perfect for us. But it was the pool that really helped it feel like summer again.

The kids LOVED the indoor water park.  We were able to go down the lazy river and play in the kids area, complete with small water slides and splash areas. The on duty lifeguards were wonderful and the snack bar was a great quick bite when they were hungry but not yet ready to leave!

Getting some safe, socially distanced vacationing in brought back a bit of that normalcy we were missing and I can't recommend it enough!

Be sure to check out the Cape Codder Resort website for deals and upcoming availability!
