I'm a teacher in Massachusetts and the only thing crappier than hearing "making up 6 days in June" is "MCAS"- our state's comprehensive assessment.
After a few long days, we all needed a little sugar boost.
I overheard our Title 1 director saying how Peeps are her downfall and since she had put in so much work, I decided I wanted to do something for her!
Enter the Peep Bouquet.
(sorry for the terrible camera phone pictures!)
Pretty cute right??
And in addition to cute, it's super inexpensive!
You will need:
A package of Peeps
A small jar or vase
Enough jelly bens to fill the vase 3/4 of the way (I used 2 bags)
and paper straws
($2 Peeps, $4 for 2 bags of jelly beans, $2 for paper straws, $1 for vase!)
First: Fill the vase with jelly beans, being sure to eat a handful of them.
Next: stick a paper straw right into your Peep (I think bunnies look best but you could do chicks if you wanted!)
Then eat more jelly beans.
Next, arrange your paper straws in the jelly beans! If you used enough jelly beans the straws will stand on their own!
If you have too many jelly beans... eat some! ;)
We did have one bunny fatality...
hehe.
You can always add ribbon around the vase if you'd like to dress it up more, but otherwise, you have a really fun looking centerpiece or conversation starter!
